Samit Patel Design Studio is a dynamic, young, minority-owned landscape architecture design firm that prides itself on giving clients personal, individual attention in achieving their goals. We work with our clients to identify their specific goals and needs, and work to develop unique, practical, functional solutions that strive to gain the greatest value for the time, effort and expense invested by our clients. We strive to build and maintain strong relationships with our clients throughout the entire process from the planning and design phase, through construction, and well beyond the completion of the project.
As landscape architects, we have a personal obligation to be responsible stewards of the land. We have a background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Design allowing us to address project needs with a holistic approach. This also allows us to work collaboratively with technical professionals, being able to lead diversified projects teams and to work within a team structure to develop solutions to complex problems.
Our design team has over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of project types including parks, sports complexes, trails, amenity centers, college campuses, streetscapes, highways, commercial developments, retail centers and private residences. We have worked for a variety of clients ranging from small municipalities, to large regional, state and federal agencies, to private developers and individual homeowners. We also have strong relationships with experienced professionals in all aspects of design and construction, as well as vendors, consultants and suppliers. BACKGROUND
Mr. Patel is a registered landscape architect with over 25 years of experience in a broad range of project types, market sectors and clients. He has been part of and led project teams ranging from parks, recreation facilities, sports complexes, trails, amenity centers, college campuses, streetscapes, highways, commercial developments, retail centers and private residences. These projects have been for a range of clients from municipalities, state and federal government agencies, private developers and homeowners.
Mr. Patel approaches each project with the understanding that form follows function. He believes that it is critical to understand how a site or facility will be utilized before it can start taking shape. A design that functions as it should, will always be considered a success. Once functional, he believes it is his responsibility as a designer to give the project its individual identity through unique and innovative artistry and detailing that set it apart.
As a landscape architect, Mr. Patel has extensive knowledge in the areas of landscape design, architecture, civil engineering, and environmental design. As a result of the variety of projects he has been involved with, he has worked with multiple design, engineering and construction disciplines including architects, civil, electrical and structural engineers, irrigation designers, fountain designers, artists, and other design and trade specialties. This provides him the ability to give consideration to multiple factors simultaneously and to effectively communicate and collaborate with all members of the project team in addressing project issues.
As a project manager, Mr. Patel prides himself on building a strong professional and personal relationship with his clients. He maintains regular communication with the client so that they are continuously aware of the progress of their project, and alerts and advises them if issues arise. Mr. Patel also builds relationships with involved stakeholders that often times have vested interest in projects. He understands that the success of a project is rooted in building consensus among all stakeholders, and works vigilantly towards building that consensus.
